Once upon a time, a person in WV tried to save some little dogs. Unfortunately, this person tried to help too many. Resources quickly dried up, the person got overwhelmed, and had to give them up. Roz is one of the dogs and puppies surrendered to HT.
Roz is a very sweet puppy. She’s currently working on crate training and house training. Since she came from WV, she’ll need to learn to walk on a leash and get used to the noise and bustle of urban life. Roz is good with dogs and cats.
She needs a loving forever home. Would you provide this loving little girl with the warm, safe home that she needs? She’ll repay you with years of cuddles and kisses!
The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee INCLUDES spay/neuter.***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs….all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many!
Be sure to ask us about getting a free 30-minute phone consult with a professional dog trainer within the first 30 days of adopting – just for HT adopters. Start your new dog out on the right foot with this valuable, expert advice and guidance FREE!

Gretchen is a sweet little Beagle who was found in rural VA. She was rescued from a shelter and brought to the DC metro area. Hopefully, she will have more opportunities here to find a loving person or family with whom she can spend the rest of her life.
Please don’t let her age fool you. Smaller dogs live longer than their larger counterparts. Gretchen is healthy and still has many good years ahead of her. She’s a social girl who loves to be with people for walks, playing, or just snuggling. This little girl is spunky, happy, and energetic. She especially enjoys playing and hanging out with her dog pals. Please look at her video for proof that Gretchen’s no couch potato!
She would like to find a forever home where there is a dog that she can keep company. Wouldn’t you like to give Gretchen the loving home and family that she desires? She’ll repay you by being your adoring friend for the rest of her life.
The adoption fee for this dog is $275, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee INCLUDES spay/neuter.
