It’s Mardi Gras Time in Arlington!
Mardi Gras is coming up on Tuesday in New Orleans, but just because you’re not there to take part, that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate Mardi Gras right here in Arlington! There is lots going on in the area for residents of The Bennington to take advantage of, like the Clarendon-Courthouse Mardi Gras Parade – the main event in our city.
This event is free and will take place on Tuesday just like the original, with traditional Mardi Gras beads and floats and more than 40 local groups marching along the parade route, which will run along Wilson Blvd. from N. Barton St. to N. Irving St. The festivities will begin at 8 pm. Here is information you will need about street closures:
- Wilson Blvd. from Barton St. to Irving St. will be closed from 7:45 pm to 9:30 pm
- Wilson Blvd. from N. Veitsch St. to N. Barton St. will be closed from 6:45 pm to 9:30 pm
- Adams St. and Wayne St. between Clarendon Blvd. and Wilson Blvd. will be closed from 7:45 pm to 9:30 pm.
Also, pay attention to restricted street parking areas. There will be temporary “No Parking” signs in the area and illegally parked cars will be ticketed or towed so you are encouraged to use the Metro.
There are many other events going on around Arlington. Click the link here for detailed information on each of them. Have fun, The Bennington residents!
